Ok, this is the last installment in the ‘blast from the past’-series. Promise, in the future i won’t bore you with stuff i did years ago.
I directed this sometime in 2003 or 2004 (i can’t remember – when exactly did this air? can anybody help?). Found it on youtube the other day, watching it again made me chuckle. I really don’t like to pat myself on the back….. but: THIS IS A STONE-COLD CLASSIC !!
For the people who might not have heard of AggroBerlin, Sido or Bushido: They are the biggest selling rappers in Germany at the moment, maybe even in the whole of Europe (i know France’ NTM used to shift more units, in the good old days). The piece aired on Polylux/ARD, at a time when nobody had heard of them – or didn’t want to have anything to do with them because they were considered ‘asozial’. Love them or hate them, their music has certainly changed the face of popmusic in this country.
Includes Sido’s seminal explanation of how ghettos works. Hilarious.
